It is going so…

fast! Time is flying these days and I’ve been wanting to take a minute (for weeks now) to just write down some of my favorite things lately πŸ™‚

So here goes…

  • Today Geo was holding Lucy at my mom’s, she squeezed him tight and said “You’re the best Daddy,” it was the sweetest moment, one in which Geo obviously melted.
  • More Lucy things…
    • After successfully reaching for her lovey in the car she said “I so proud of me”
    • “Bye new house!” “Bye bank!” “Bye post office!” and so on – it’s the cutest.
    • “How are you Mumma?”
    • “I love school SOOOOO MUCCH” “I love my paci SOOOOO MUCH”
    • “I gonna dream of butterflies”
  • Grace is beyond adorable. She’s 7 months this week she’s just perfection. The smiles are nonstop. And her new favorite thing is feeding herself.

Life is so good these days. Geo and I are exhausted, miss our time alone and can’t wait to have a night in November where “Ganna” is going to take the girls but we are honestly just soaking in this time as a family. And maybe starting to think about expanding it… πŸ˜‰

I Have A Love/Hate Relationship…

with Lucy finding comfort in only my arms, and not her dads. Yes, she loves George but when she’s having a meltdown or isn’t feeling well the only person she wants is me. There are many times when I find pure joy in this (she’s mine, all mine! haha) but when I’ve had to go into her bedroom 3 times in a span of 30 minutes to try to get her to fall asleep, while George gets to just chill on the couch, yea that’s when I start to not love those moments so much. In the same breath, I know this is only a phase and they’ll be lots of times when I wish she would come to me and want me to hold her so I’m trying to enjoy it as much as I can :p

One thing I do really like is oftentime, when I put her down, she’ll fall asleep and then a few minutes later start to cry. So I’ll go in, pick her up and rock her a little bit – she immediately falls back to sleep. She just wants to fall asleep in my arms opposed to in her crib. There’s something so sweet about it. Sometimes I linger a bit longer than I need to because who doesn’t love a sleeping baby in their arms πŸ™‚

After a couple days housebound because of Lucy’s cold/ear infection, we decided to venture back out into the world and check out Portobello Road. We weren’t disappointed – so cool. I loved walking around and taking in all the commotion; Geo didn’t exactly feel the same way but he lit up when he realized there was a Banksy hidden among the craziness. I lit up when I got my cup of Parmesan and Garlic fries… πŸ˜€ haha Here are some snaps of our adventure!

Grateful: For taking time to go to yoga this morning. The class is intense but it felt so good for my body and mind. Note to self: do that more often.

Our Day Date in London…

was the perfect remedy for a couple who had barely seen each other in two weeks and were in need of some alone time to reconnect and just, have some fun!

Last Saturday, after taking a 7 hr long flight home with an 8 month old, Geo and I spent the morning sleeping, unpacking and eagerly awaiting the arrival of our babysitter, Jenny. I had made the decision earlier in the week that having Jenny come would be a nice way for us to rest, eat out, take a breather and I was right – it allowed us to do all of the above. We had Jenny for 4 hours and spent the first hour sleeping… pure bliss. We then headed out for a mini adventure.

First stop, a photo with my two new besties:

Next we headed to London’s South Bank in search of a good place to eat. Along the way we couldn’t help but take a few pics like this one:

We then came across a restaurant called Bill’s, a small chain in London. It was cosy, warm and had a great menu. I ordered a Mint Iced Tea and had NO regrets (might have been the best part of the meal!). Here’s a peak of our visit there:

I got the veggie platter and between the falafel and spicy hummus I was in heaven.

After indulging in a late lunch we headed to the highlight of the day date, the Clink Prison Museum! Dun dun dunnnn. It was spooky, grotesque and basically everything you’d expect it to be. Next date we’re heading to the National Portrait Museum, probably a little more worthwhile :p

We made a couple friends though! (the sort of friends nightmares are made of… creepy.)

When we were finally done with the museum we headed back home feeling refreshed, reconnected and just excited to see Miss Lucy. But of course we had to stop to take in the Thames one more time. It’s amazing to me how busy it always it. I wouldn’t say it’s the most beautiful river I’ve ever seen but there’s something magical about all the commotion that seems to take place on it – always moving, always different, always with a backdrop of London. We will certainly miss it.

Geo asked me to pose, so naturally I gave the best Kardashian look I had… #Fail #HowDoIDoPoutyLips?

Grateful: For this little pipsqueak who finds amusement, wonder and happiness in just about everything (especially my phone!). I hope she holds onto this for a long long time (the wonder, not my phone!).

How Cool Are We?

We got this whole selfie thing DOWN.

Ha. Someday we’ll be cool. Someday.

Grateful: For the construction worker who saved the day! Lucy and I went to get coffee this morning only to realize we were locked in the apartment. The keys had been left in the door from the outside (oops!). Geo called down to the man who was on the street and voila, he came up and we were saved!! Phew, close call.

Friday Five

Meetings, driving, work, repeat. That has been my week and boy am I excited to relax (kind of) tomorrow πŸ™‚ My little sister is visiting Geo and I this weekend. She’s 9 yrs old so we’re planning on doing some geocaching with her, maybe some baking and then ordering chinese food (her fav) for dinner. Sunday I think I’ll pamper myself for the day while George plays in a frisbee tournament – it’s going to be a good weekend. What are you up to?

Friday Five:

My thoughts are with Paris tonight. What has happened there is horrible and there really are no words to descibe how I feel about it. As George put it earlier tonight, “This is not the world I want to bring our children up in” and I couldn’t agree more.

My birthday is on Monday! Eeks. The big 3-0!

My lovely husband started my birthday weekend early and surprised me with flowers and two gifts that I’ve had my eye on. A Madewell tote that I fell in love with two years ago and the new Mary Louise Parker memoir that I heard about on NPR just yesterday – can’t wait to dig into it.

My new favorite show is the Netflix Series, Master of None. It’s smart. It’s witty. It’s real. It’s created by Aziz Ansari – enough said, right? If you’re in need of a new show, this is it.

My mom is all about saving the bees and I couldn’t help but think of her when I saw this πŸ™‚

Have a lovely weekend!

What I saw vs. What was real

So I took these photos out of pure frustration. I was annoyed with how messy our kitchen was and wanted to document the moment to, a. show geo and make him feel partly responsible (bad on me, I know), and b. share with my Β little blogging audience how messy my life can be. I had every intention of sharing the photos and bitching about my how quickly our little home gets dirty.

But then I downloaded them and took a closer look… and that’s when I realized, wow, it’s not really that messy its just LIVED in. Its the remnants of my husband and I eating breakfast together, me baking muffins for the week and us having a LIFE together – that’s all. Life gets messy and thats OKAY. Future self, repeat after me, LIFE gets messy and thats OKAY πŸ™‚

PS. Mini 3D corgis – sign me up! But really, these could be terrific stocking stuffers πŸ™‚ Corgi Love

Friday Five

Well we made it to the weekend! This was a rough week for both Geo and I, and we REALLY deserved that Nona’s ice cream we indulged in while watching House of Cards tonight. So much so that I only realized after the cup was gone that I should have splurged and gotten two scoops, not just one. #LessonLearned #FridaysAreForTwoSCOOPS πŸ™‚

Friday Five:

My yard looked particularly pretty today…

My new favorite content organizer is Feedly.com. It not only organizes your favorite sites by topic but it also suggests other sites you may find interesting/useful. Being in the marketing biz, coming across this site the other day was like being proposed to after 3 YRS of dating – finally, it’s happening πŸ™‚

My baby is kicking up a storm this week! It’s amazing. It’s a miracle. It feels freaking weird!

My obsession as of late has been coconut oil. To cook with, to moisturize with and to use in a desperate attempt to prevent stretch marks… although rumor has it its hereditary and I’m pretty much screwed. Gonna oil-away anyways and say a little prayer to the coconut gods (say one for me, will ya?!).

My day is ending with this blog post, which I’m writing on my brand new MacBook. Its always fun to a get a new toy and this is no exception, however I’ve always been a PC girl so this is a change – a big, great, confusing, frustrating change. Geo, please be patient with me while I learn how to navigate this whole new world… love you!

Have a lovely weekend!Β
